One week left

Today is Monday. This day next week I will officially be back at work. Yuck. I'm somewhat ready to go back and somewhat dreading the day still. It will be good to go through an entire day without having someone spit up down the front/back/side of my 3rd t-shirt of the day (she shall remain nameless). It will also be good to have a conversation that doesn't end with "because I said so" or "Did you hear me?" (although I may have to think about those with some docs that just won't budge). I feel bad for Harper mostly - she is just beginning to really talk and play and it's such a joy to smile at her and get one of her huge toothless grins back! I'll miss those. Gavin is used to me going to work so I don't think it will be that big of an adjustment for him - plus I think he's about had all the Mommy time he can muster. On Saturday he was going to Nana and Papa's after nap to spend the night so Jon and I could go see the final Harry Potter. Jon left for work and at about 9am, Gavin asked if he was going to their house and I explained after nap. He replied "Can I go now?". Yup, he's had enough Mommy time. Today I carried him kicking and screaming out of Chick-fil-A because he chose to not listen to direction. Yup, we've BOTH had enough Mommy time.

Funny Gavin story though - I signed him up for camp at My Gym for Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a few weeks. Dropped him off at 9am and picked him up at Noon - and those were a quick 3 hours where I tried to get things done that wouldn't be pleasant with an almost 4 year old. Anyway, we were driving home and I was badgering him with questions that he didn't answer (trying to get information from him is harder than yanking your own wisdom teeth out) and finally I gave up after I got out of him that yes, he had fun and snack was cheerios and apples and juice. Sigh. Anyway, we were driving along in silence and suddenly he said "someone was mean to me today Mommy". I asked him who and he said it was just some boy and he took his ball away from him. I asked him what he did, if he told the leader, how he felt, etc. As you can imagine, I didn't get much more information, so I finally just said "I'm sorry someone took your ball, Gavin. That must have made you sad". To which he replied "Yup, it was a real problem Mom".

Did I tell you that we took Harper for her 2 month check up and she is off the charts? People kept commenting that she didn't look like a 2 month old and it always kind of puzzled me. Not any more. She weighs 15 pounds 15.5 ounces and is 25 inches long - just the size of your average 5-6 month old!!! The nurse measured her twice because she couldn't believe she was that long at this age. She is currently wearing 6-9 month clothing - sometimes she can still squeeze in a 3-6 month but not often. The good news is that she is now sleeping through the night! She is pretty much on a schedule of eating 5-6 ounces at 6am, 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm and then will sleep until 6am and start it all over again. It may vary a little and if she eats before 9pm then we probably will wake at 4am for a feeding but generally if she eats between 9 and 10pm, we won't see her again until 6am. This will be great for going back to work and I can't believe how quick it was. Gavin was quick too, but I think his sleeping through the night was more around 5-6 months, I can't remember.

So here are the pictures I promised from Harper's one and two month sessions along with my baby photo...

Here we are - Dad, Mom, Jennifer and baby Alisa. There weren't any dates on the back of this photo, but my Mom guesses it was within a month or two of my birth.

Here is the hospital photo of me - does the wild and crazy hair remind you of anybody?

Here are Harper's one month pictures - couldn't get one with her eyes open for anything!

And now the 2 month pictures - what a difference a month makes!

This one cracks me up!
