And the award for Best Parents goes to....

We are having a patio poured in our backyard (I'll post those pictures when it's completed) and so today, a cement truck showed up at our house! Now, if you remember anything about Gavin, he LOVES, LOVES, LOVES any construction vehicle. Most of our car rides are filled with Gavin pointing out the many bulldozers, cranes, excavators, cement mixers, semi's, fire trucks, ambulances, etc. that we pass. And we pass a lot on our short trips. Don't dare tell him that you didn't see it, because he will cry and explain what color it was and where it was until you tell him "oh yes, I did see that yellow dump truck", just to get him to calm down. Speaking of calming down, a funny story - Gavin was crying about something when we were trying to get him loaded into my van to go home (probably the fact that he has to get in the van all by himself and that can take 20 minutes, which we sometimes don't have), and as I was buckling his seat belt he says to me "I need my paci Mommy so I can calm down"!! That might be the time to start weaning the paci, eh? Anyway, I go get him this morning and start telling him I have something big to show him outside and he has to hurry and get dressed. He was in seventh heaven watching the big cement mixer pour out concrete and the barrel turn! So we win, right?

We haven't shown Riley in a while so here she is enjoying a nice summer day. Jon recently took her to get shaved and this is a picture of her with a LOT less fur. I didn't think she liked it when she first came home, but now I think she is much cooler with all that hair gone and it's not covering all of my clothing like before.

Gavin the gas station attendant. I gave him a pretend credit card so when he would ask how much gas, I would tell him to fill 'er up and then when he said it was $10 (0r $2 - his gas prices fluctuate quite a bit) I'd tell him to swipe my credit card!

Jon went on a SV (singles vacation as my Mom calls them) and Gavin and I headed to a miniature train for a quick ride through the woods and back. Not sure if he enjoyed it our not as about halfway through he said to me "As soon as we get done, we can go home" - as if he were just humoring me by riding with me.

Father's Day 2010 - Larry, Jon and Gavin

To the best of my ability, he is measuring about 38 inches!! Only 10 more inches before he can ride the big roller coasters!Mark, Tami and Allie Grace were here for the 4th of July. Allie was playing in a field hockey tournament and her team took 2nd place!! Allie was 1 of only 3 ten year olds playing on a team of 14 and under! We got to see a few of her games = Gavin loved the fact that they played with orange balls and was disappointed he couldn't take one!Serious attempts at blowing up a balloon!

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby niece or nephew and we just found out today that it will be by Saturday. My sister Jennifer has had a great pregnancy and today she is officially a week past her due date. With slightly high blood pressure, they're going to give the baby until Saturday to make his/her debut and if nothing happens by then, Jennifer will be induced. My original plan was to visit over 4th of July, so I'm glad that we decided to delay my trip until the end of July instead. Now I'll get to meet him/her only a couple weeks after birth! As soon as I get word, I'll post the news (and hopefully a picture too)! Stay tuned!
