Winter Wonderland

We are almost ready for Christmas! And I guess Mother Nature is as well - we got snow! Real snow that actually covered the grass and let Gavin sled down the hill in our backyard. It's been bitter cold (although my sister told me that her car registered -9 this morning and we are not quite as cold as that!) and miserable to be outside, but when it snows for the first time, how do you resist? We will be celebrating Christmas this weekend with Jon's family and then we leave on the 23rd for Christmas with my family.
We made the trek to Bass Pro for the picture with Santa and got our Santa Pass for an hour after our arrival (it's like fast pass). Gavin had a great time playing with all the toys and was excited to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Well, excited until it was actually his turn...then Jon and I had to drag him up to meet him. I thought it was going to be a total bust, but Santa was prepared for hesitant little ones and we were able to get Gavin in the same proximity of Santa, so the trip was not wasted after all.

My last day of work is this friday for TWO WHOLE WEEKS!! I am very excited and ready for a break, unfortunately my week is slammed up until then! Jon's position was eliminated and he was told he would have a job, just not sure what it would be exactly. Well, we found out that Jon's new position will be store manager of a little store about 35 miles from our house. He's less than thrilled but trying to keep a positive attitude and hoping that things shake out differently in the new year (as many think it will). It's a bummer for all of us, but in this day and age, a job is necessary while you are looking for another one. We'll keep you posted.

On the baby front, all seems to be good thus far. In fact I am pretty sure I felt it moving as I was working on this post. It might have been the baby, it might have been heartburn, could have been muscle twitches - who knows! I've started receiving my weekly injections of progesterone (these are supposed to help prevent delivering prematurely), so THAT'S alot of fun. I go once a week to expose my tush for the nurse to push some thick oil like substance into me. I'm just glad I didn't opt for the "self-administer" option as I am not sure I could handle those injections. Hope it works at the very least. My next appointment is in early January.
Not sure when I'll get back here again so just in case....
Merry Christmas!!

Talking to Santa, telling him what he wants for Christmas and that, yes, he has been a good boy this year!

The official picture. Normally kids are sitting on his lap and not off to the far right of the frame, but I was just glad they were able to get them both in the same picture! As soon as this was done, he told Santa that he likes "little candy canes" (which come from the check out lady, not Santa).
