Once again, I find I am tired and don't have time to post a big entry. I've had these pictures sitting here waiting for some explanation, so I'd better just post and get on with it! Here are the pics from Gavin's birthday (we had a few of the neighbor kids that Gavin plays with over to share his cake!). Fun was had by all and Gavin even let them sing Happy Birthday to him without him bursting into tears and a chorus of "no singing" coming from his mouth.
We are back from Disney now, too, so I'll try to get those up ASAP!
Can you believe it's October already?
Gavin and Cole figuring out his new duck pond game (Cole was a better rule follower)!

We took the day of his birthday off and took him to the Science Center - he loved watching this track with balls and probably would have stayed all day!
I don't get too many pictures of him and I, so although this isn't the greatest, it's the best we could get!

Hugging his UPS race car that he got for his birthday!

He spied this one first and made sure it was the first one he opened!

Blowing out his candles! Hardly any spit got on the cake :-)

The kids used cars to roll through paint and make tire tracks on construction paper. They all had a blast!

I decided to make his cake this year. It took way too long but I was happy with the end result. My sister said it was the ugliest frosting color she had ever seen and Jon wondered why a Fuel truck was on top of the mountain..... I told him that when he makes the next cake he can place the matchbox vehicles wherever he pleases!
View from the top - I thought it was cute for my first attempt at creating. And remember, I'm not creative - I usually prefer to critique other peoples creativity!!

And this is why I probably won't ever make another cake - I'm not sure what took longer...decorating or cleaning up afterwards!
His first trip to a Barber Shop (that isn't called Grandpa Gary's that is!)
See you again soon with pics from vacation!!
Thanks for sharing....the pictures and the birthday cake. Gavin is really lucky to have such a dedicated mom to bake that great cake--it was really cute! (I made a halloween costume from scratch one time...spent a fortune and took FOREVER...never again.) Have a great Fall. Love, Aunt Lynn
ReplyDeleteI think the cake looks great! Why wouldn't there be a fuel truck on a mountain? :) I'm sure Gavin liked it. Looked like a fun time. I can't believe he's 3!
